Yusuf Biliarta Mangunwijaya, known as Romo Mangun, born in Ambarawa, 6th of May 1929, is one of Indonesian maestro architect, an author, also a religious Catholic leader. He got his educational background from Seminari Menengah Kotabaru, Yogyakarta (1951), Seminari Menengah Santo Petrus Kanisius, Mertoyudan, Magelang (1952), Filsafat Teologi Sancti Pauli, Kotabaru, Yogyakarta (1953-1959), Teknik Arsitektur, ITB, Bandung (1959), Rheinisch Westfaelische Technische Hochschule, Aachen, Jerman (1960-1966), Fellow Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies, Colorado, AS (1978). He was known as a social and humble person, he created the Kali Code (code River) community settlement and rearrange them to be artistic village. Romo Mangun got the Aga Khan Award for Architecture for this contribution. Mangunwijaya related works also included with Sendangsono Pray Area, and he also gained IAI Awards for that project.
